Eight years. Two degrees. Goldman Sachs. One mission.

This is the actual timeline — from high school charts to institutional experience, and back again. Every step shaped how SharmaFX teaches.

~2016 · HIGH SCHOOL

I started trading before most of my peers knew what a currency pair was.

My introduction to markets came in high school — not through a class or a mentor, but from genuine curiosity about how money actually moves in the world. I opened my first trading account early, built my own analytical process from scratch, and made every mistake a beginner makes: overtrading, chasing entries, trusting signals with no logic behind them.

“Markets are a system. And systems can be learned — if you’re willing to study them with the right framework, not the easy one.”

2018–2020 · BEFORE SHARMAFX EXISTED

I was mentoring traders informally for over a year before SharmaFX had a name.

By the time I was studying Economics at San Jose State, I had been trading long enough to develop a framework that worked consistently — and the people around me had started noticing. Classmates, friends, and traders in my circle kept asking me to walk them through setups and explain why markets moved the way they did. That informal mentoring — well before any brand, any Instagram page, any formal program — is where SharmaFX’s teaching philosophy was born.

“The approach I teach was developed in real conversations with real traders years before SharmaFX had a name. That’s what makes it practical rather than theoretical.”

2020 · SJSU GRADUATION · SHARMAFX LAUNCHES

SharmaFX started as an Instagram page. Not a business plan.

Right after graduating from San Jose State with a BA in Economics, my family and friends encouraged me to share my analysis publicly. So I started an Instagram page — just analysis, built around three pillars most retail traders treat as separate: technicals, fundamentals, and sentiment working together as one system. I started getting invited onto YouTube channels for live sessions. Followers grew. People started asking: “Do you offer mentorship?” That question, asked by enough people organically, became SharmaFX. Not from a business plan — from a community that saw value and asked for more.

OCTOBER 2020 · WHILE RUNNING SHARMAFX

I enrolled in a Master’s degree while running SharmaFX — because I wanted the institutional framework, not just the retail one.

With SharmaFX growing and students relying on my analysis, I enrolled in the MS Analytics program at American University with a concentration in international markets and economy — studying full time while mentoring. The program gave me the quantitative and macroeconomic foundation that distinguishes SharmaFX’s approach from surface-level technical analysis: data modeling, international capital flows, economic policy impact, and global institutional behavior.

2022 · MS GRADUATION · THE INTENTIONAL MOVE

I graduated — and then joined Goldman Sachs on purpose.

When I graduated in 2022, I had thousands of students and a running mentorship. But I kept hitting the same honest ceiling: everything I was teaching was based on what I could observe from the outside. I wanted the inside view. So I joined Goldman Sachs — not because I needed the income or the credential, but because I needed the knowledge. I worked across private wealth management, asset and wealth management, and M&A transaction analysis. I built frameworks adopted by global teams. I ranked in the top 5% of peers. Then I came back to SharmaFX — with every piece of that experience restructured into the curriculum.

“Most mentors in this space talk about institutional knowledge. I paused a growing business and went to Goldman Sachs specifically to get it — then came back and built it into every program.”

2023 · PRESENT · SHARMAFX TODAY

I enrolled in a Master’s degree while running SharmaFX — because I wanted the institutional framework, not just the retail one.

Returning with Goldman Sachs experience changed every program — the macro context framework, the risk-first approach, the way execution is taught relative to institutional positioning rather than retail pattern matching. Today SharmaFX is the education partner of leading trading and investing platforms and has established formal partnerships with over 20 universities globally. The Instagram page that started with family encouragement in 2020 is now a structured institutional education framework trusted by serious traders, academic institutions, and industry platforms worldwide.

“The gap between what institutions know and what retail traders are taught is not accidental. SharmaFX exists to close it — with the credentials and track record to actually do it.”

Most educators claim institutional knowledge. VJ has documented, verifiable experience at every level.

01

Goldman Sachs — not claimed, actually worked there

PWM, AWM, M&A – over a year of direct institutional experience. Not a certification. The actual work, at the actual institution, building actual frameworks used globally. Entered intentionally after already having thousands of students.

02

8+ years of real trading — before the brand

VJ started trading in high school and was mentoring traders informally for over a year before SharmaFX launched. The curriculum was shaped by actual trading experience and real student conversations – not content creation strategy.

03

MS Analytics — international markets concentration

Graduate-level quantitative macro and international economics from American University. The academic backbone behind SharmaFX’s fundamental and macro analysis – not surface-level news trading or indicator stacking.

04

No signals — from day one, by design

SharmaFX has never been a signals service. That commitment existed before Goldman Sachs, before the MS degree, before 3,000 students. It is a founding principle — not a marketing position adopted after the fact.
